PRESIDENTS DAY IS FAMILY DAY — MON, FEBRUARY 18, 2019 from 10am-3:30pm

At State Theatre New Jersey’s annual Family Day festival, families can spend the school-day holiday enjoying performances, workshops, and hands-on activities, plus costumed characters, face painting, balloon animals, games, a photo booth,  food, and more. The day-long festival spreads across The State and other local venues, bringing downtown New Brunswick alive with nonstop activity!

Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild Live
presented by Nationwide


America’s favorite zookeeper, Jack Hanna, shares stories and video footage of his worldwide adventures (from brushing a hippo’s teeth to eating with wombats), and introduces the audience to an array of wild animals—live and “in person”!

Bandits on the Run

Wielding cello, guitars, and melodious three-part harmony (not to mention some really neat toys), Bandits on the Run give a folksy, funky, fun-filled twist on everybody’s favorite songs. Join in the fun with Roy Dodger, Bonanza Jellyfish, and “Clarissa,” a whimsical trio of music and mischief makers from Brooklyn. They’ll charm the socks off of folks young, old, and everywhere in between!

Hopalong Andrew sings clever and whimsical cowboy songs about city life performed in the great tradition of the American West. His  mission is to celebrate all aspects of city life and nature, while paying homage to the singing cowboys and folk singers of yesteryear. His high-spirited music  is meant for the whole family to enjoy, city-slickers and tenderfoots alike!

WORKSHOPS at the heldrich hotel

These fun, hands-on FREE workshops invite children to explore both their physical and creative sides.
No advance registration is required, but space is limited. Participants will be admitted to workshops on a first-come, first-served basis. Workshops are for kids only (with the exception of “Hand in Hand” and “Zumbini,” which require a participating adult for each child).
