Symphony Scholars is an exciting and growing partnership between State Theatre New Jersey and the New Brunswick Public School District that gives students in the district’s award-winning instrumental music program special access to the theater’s classical music series. The free program offers a thrilling opportunity for these budding musicians to experience live classical music by a world-class orchestra.
Symphony Scholars comes with free concert tickets for each student and a family member, and a special meet-and-greet with the conductor and soloist after the show. Students receive extensive pre-concert preparation, including introductory workshops, study guides, and CD recordings of the music they will hear at the performance. A follow-up workshop leads participants in meaningful reflection on the experience.
Support for Classical Education and Outreach is provided in part by The Frank and Lydia Bergen Foundation, The Blanche & Irving Laurie Foundation, and The Harold I. and Faye B. Liss Foundation.
