On May 7, 2022, State Theatre New Jersey celebrated its Centennial safely at a very special outdoor Gala in the beautiful and historic setting of Suydam Farms in Somerset, NJ.
Fête at the Farm brought together several historic Central New Jersey institutions for State Theatre's 100th Anniversary Gala to celebrate our shared history and honor those who made our return to the stage possible.
These institutions included: Suydam Farms, a 300-year old farm founded by some of the first settlers to our area; Magyar Bank, a steadfast supporter of the State Theatre who is also celebrating their centennial anniversary; and our healthcare heroes, on behalf of Johnson & Johnson, whose commitment to caring for our community throughout this pandemic has made it possible for us to welcome the public back to the theater once again.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who supported our first large-scale fundraising event since the pandemic, Fête at the Farm. Proceeds from this event ensure that State Theatre can continue to achieve its mission of arts access for all through programs like Sensory Friendly Performances, Performances for Schools, Symphony Scholars, and more. State Theatre continues to bring world-class performances and valuable community programs to the Central NJ region, and we thank you for supporting our work.
Despite the weather, Féte at the Farm was an incredible success. Suydam Farms’ greenhouse was a gorgeous, historic, and intimate venue in which to see two-time Tony® Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell sing the American Songbook, while enjoying the lavish farm-to-table dinner prepared by New Brunswick’s own Fritz’s Catering. It was a magical evening, and we thank everyone who was a part of it.
