About Ray Andersen

In the 1980s, Ray Andersen was a member of the notable Stone Pony house-band in Asbury Park, Cats On A Smooth Surface. Bruce Springsteen played with Andersen and the band so much, he often raved to the press worldwide, that they were his favorite group of musicians to jam with when he was off tour.

In 1995, Andersen and songwriting partner, Patti Maloney, formed a pop/rock band called Blue Van Gogh. The duo released an album called Hi-Fi Junkie Sonata, distributed by Edel Records. They toured throughout Germany as the opening act for Matchbox Twenty in April of 1998. Later that year, Andersen got a call to play guitar, keyboards, and sing backup for rock star, Meat Loaf. Andersen toured with Meat Loaf through 2000 and is featured in the #1-rated VH1 Storyteller episode of all time alongside Meat Loaf.

Since 2003, Andersen, has been performing fun, lively, rock music for kids at venues, parks, libraries, and festivals as mr. RAY. He has released four albums featuring all original mr. RAY songs. He has been profiled in Parenting Magazine, Family Fun, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.
