Celebrate Black History Month with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, who have been singing the story of South Africa for nearly 60 years. Their music, born in the mines of 19th-century South Africa, has become celebrated across the globe through the group’s performances with Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder, and on Broadway, film soundtracks, and their own Grammy Award®-winning albums. As South Africa’s cultural emissaries at home and around the globe, they travel the world over, spreading the message of peace, love, and harmony. Their a cappella music, rooted in the traditional Zulu musical style isicathamiya, features stunning vocal harmonies and floating melodies, accompanied by playful choreography.

For Students in Grades: 3-8
