“COMIC GOLD!” —Variety

What would happen if Sherlock Holmes and Monty Python had an illegitimate Broadway baby? You’d get The Play That Goes Wrong, Broadway and London’s award-winning smash comedy! Called “a gut-busting hit” (The New York Times) and “the funniest play Broadway has ever seen” (The Huffington Post), this classic murder mystery is chock-full of mishaps and madcap mania delivering “a riotous explosion of comedy” (Daily Beast) that is “tons of fun for all ages” (The Huffington Post)!

Pre-Performance Insights

Available only for the Saturday, April 4 evening performance.

The State Theatre’s Pre-Performance Insights give our Broadway Series audiences new ways to look at theater in general, as well as a richer understanding of the show itself. Led by Rutgers University theater professor Christopher Cartmill, along with special guests, these entertaining talks are sure to make an evening at the State Theatre an even more enjoyable and memorable experience.

Pre-Performance Insights take place at 7:15 before the Saturday evening performances of shows in our Broadway Series. Attendance is free of charge for ticketholders to that night’s performance; no reservation or additional ticket is required. Pre-Performance Insights take place on the second floor of State Theatre New Jersey. There is no elevator access to this space.
